Does anyone know of an alternate-history story in which the Spanish Reconquista never happened? In particular, I'm interested in seeing an interpretation of how Europe would have developed with a Muslim state in amongst the morass of Christendom.

This isn't quite what you're looking for, since Christendom is nearly wiped, but The Years of Rice and Salt has a mainly Muslim Europe due to a more devastating Black Death.

Not quite what I'm looking for, no, but it certainly looks interesting even so. I shall likely check it out.
